Mara & Mine, the incredible Jess Gomes and our favourite photographer ,Guy Lowndes, headed into the desert early on a Sunday morning to shoot our Fall 2013 collection, Boneyard. We drove past the windmills in Palm Springs, through winding arid roads, past the quiet towns of the desert toward the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park. First stop, Pioneer Town.
We were so lucky to be able to catch Jess Gomes before she left L.A bound for Australia. Only days after Jess shot with us she was strutting down the catwalk for Australia’s leading department store David Jones. We would like to congratulate Jess on her new role as David Jones ambassador replacing uber model Miranda Kerr. Go Jess!
We arrived at our first location, Pioneer Town and instantly fell in love with its country and western style setting. Pioneer Town was built in the 1940’s as a live in movie set which gave us many options for props and backdrops. Yes boys Jess is naked behind those doors!
After Pioneer Town and lunch on the run we made it to Joshua Tree National Park before sunset. Joshua Tree is breathtakingly beautiful. It is known for its ” dark night skies, rich cultural history and surreal geologic features”
